Renowned scientist Jane Goodall Shared Aspiration to Launch Elon Musk and Donald Trump on Single-Journey Cosmic Voyage
After dedicating years observing chimpanzee conduct, Jane Goodall became an expert on the aggressive tendencies of dominant males. In a newly published interview recorded shortly before her death, the celebrated primatologist shared her unique solution for addressing particular figures she viewed as showing similar traits: transporting them on a non-return journey into the cosmos.
Final Documentary Reveals Candid Thoughts
This remarkable perspective into Goodall's mindset emerges from the Netflix production "Last Statements", which was captured in March and kept confidential until after her recent demise at nine decades of life.
"There are individuals I'm not fond of, and I would like to place them on a SpaceX vessel and launch them to the celestial body he's certain he'll locate," commented Goodall during her interview with the interviewer.
Specific Individuals Mentioned
When questioned whether the tech billionaire, recognized for his questionable behavior and associations, would be among them, Goodall responded affirmatively.
"Yes, definitely. He could serve as the organizer. You can imagine the people I would place on that spaceship. Together with Musk would be Donald Trump and various Trump's loyal adherents," she declared.
"Furthermore I would include Russia's leader among them, and I would include Xi Jinping. I'd certainly put Benjamin Netanyahu on that journey and his far-right government. Put them all on that spacecraft and send them off."
Past Observations
This wasn't the initial instance that Goodall, a supporter of conservation efforts, had expressed criticism about Donald Trump especially.
In a previous discussion, she had noted that he exhibited "similar type of actions as an alpha chimp will show when vying for supremacy with another. They're upright, they strut, they present themselves as really more large and aggressive than they truly are in order to frighten their competitors."
Alpha Behavior
During her last recorded conversation, Goodall further explained her comprehension of dominant individuals.
"We see, interestingly, two types of dominant individual. The first achieves dominance solely through combat, and due to their strength and they fight, they don't endure indefinitely. Another group achieves dominance by utilizing strategy, like an aspiring leader will merely oppose a higher ranking one if his friend, frequently a sibling, is alongside him. And as we've seen, they endure far more extended periods," she explained.
Group Dynamics
The celebrated primatologist also examined the "political aspect" of actions, and what her detailed observations had revealed to her about combative conduct exhibited by human communities and primates when encountering something they viewed as dangerous, although no risk actually existed.
"Chimps encounter an unfamiliar individual from a nearby tribe, and they become very stimulated, and their hair erect, and they stretch and touch another, and they display these faces of hostility and apprehension, and it transmits, and the rest catch that feeling that a single individual has had, and the entire group grows hostile," she detailed.
"It spreads rapidly," she added. "Some of these demonstrations that turn aggressive, it permeates the group. They all want to become and join in and become aggressive. They're defending their territory or competing for control."
Human Parallels
When questioned if she believed comparable behaviors applied to humans, Goodall responded: "Perhaps, sometimes yes. But I strongly feel that the bulk of humanity are decent."
"My primary aspiration is raising this new generation of compassionate citizens, roots and shoots. But are we allowing enough time? I'm uncertain. It's a really grim time."
Historical Context
Goodall, originally from London shortly before the commencement of the the global conflict, equated the struggle against the challenges of present day politics to England opposing Nazi Germany, and the "spirit of obstinance" displayed by the prime minister.
"That doesn't mean you won't experience periods of sadness, but then you come out and say, 'Well, I refuse to permit their victory'," she remarked.
"It's similar to Churchill during the conflict, his iconic words, we'll fight them along the shores, we shall battle them through the avenues and metropolitan centers, then he turned aside to a companion and allegedly commented, 'and we shall combat them at the ends of shattered glass since that's everything we actually possess'."
Closing Thoughts
In her concluding remarks, Goodall offered words of encouragement for those fighting against authoritarian control and the environmental crisis.
"Even today, when the planet is dark, there still is optimism. Preserve faith. When faith diminishes, you become indifferent and do nothing," she recommended.
"Whenever you wish to preserve what is still beautiful in this world – should you desire to protect our world for the future generations, your descendants, their offspring – then think about the choices you take each day. As, multiplied countless, multiple occasions, even small actions will make for great change."
